My mother is a talented seamstress and businesswoman and I learned a lot from her when I was growing up but never took the time to learn how to sew. After matric, I took a gap year and found I really enjoyed knitting and sewing, and also started watching YouTube videos to learn what I could. I made some scarves, clothes and bags, and even started selling some items at that time. I reached the stage where I wanted to make a coat but got stuck when I had to draft a pattern. Polish designer Janusz Jurek has specialized in digital art and illustration over the years. His more recent work involves a lot of generative illustration. Unfortunately, he didn’t document his working technique, so we can only take a wild guess and imagine that he works with some programming tools.

The past few years we have sourced our photo models (jewellery) locally. Yes there are some ‘gems’ living in Napier, South Africa. We continue to source them locally. Hopefully we are able to get a few ones for a new range of jewellery that will be launched during the Baardskeerdersbos Art Route 31 March and 1 april.
